Hi there,
I recently purchased a Krib this past Saturday and he is hiding under the rockery.
What I am wondering is how he eats, does he come to the top and eat flakes or what?
Can someone please inform me if this is normal that he is still hiding, also btw he has the tank by himself atm.

hi curtis--he's probably just nervous in his new surroundings, especially since he is alone. fish tend to believe that if no one else is swimming around, then there must be some danger around. he'll come out when he becomes used to his new home and has tankmates.

SGypsyMermaid,
Is the fish going to die due to starvation or will it eat as I am not sure what to feed it as I've tried pellets and/or flakes. Also do they eat algae chips or?

try some live food to whet his appetite maybe some brine shrimp or black worms. even the most finicky eaters will go for wriggling food. i'm pretty sure kribs are not interested in plant food. sometimes fish take a little while to get acclimated to new surroundings, and will refuse food. he'll get over it. when are you gonna get him some tankmates?

My kribs were, and still very nervous around people and I have had them since Feb but how I feed them is I put the flake food (plant, growth, staple and color mix) where my filter flows into the tank and it will go right to the bottom and they come out of the cave and chase it and eat it. They take food over shyness anyday! haha! Hope that helps.
