Peacock or Hap?

I know it's a lousy picture folks but does anyone care to take a stab a what this little critter is and whether its a male or female? Thanks.

I would say it's a male based on the color along the dorsal fin as well as the bluish (?) tone along the side of the body. The head and body type are also indicative of a peacock but what appears to be a long horizontal stripe along the side of his body has me a little confused.

It was sold to me as a peacock and I do think because of the dorsal it is a male. It is not really a stripe on his side but a series of black splotches which makes me think more Hap and that bluish hue only showed up during the photo shoot.
