kevin, are you gonna post your krib spawning pics, or a link to your website?

Here they are:

I bought them at the Cincinnati club auction on Nov 2'nd and they spawned on Nov 22'nd. I'm limited to 5 MB of free web space so I've been trying to rearrange everything to make room for these pics.

Nice site Kevin. Where did the mystery fishes come from? the Malawian looks like a Demasoni hybrid for sure.

The conventional wisdom is that you never buy a fish if you are not sure what it is. Well, sometimes I do not follow that rule. I have bought some very nice cichlids at very low prices because the LFS didn't realize what they had. But sometimes this backfires and I'm the one that gets burned.

I bought the probable malawi hybrids at a less reputable LFS where they were very tiny and labeled as "zebras". They were small enough that I tended to believe them until they grew out. One of them has yellow edging on the dorsal fin so maybe a Lab "mbamba" hybrid? I let them grow to about 4 inches and then decided they were no longer worth the tank space and terminated them.

I bought the mystery victorian with the checkered pattern at the Cincinnati club auction Nov 2'nd. They were in a bag, stressed to the max and labeled Pundamilia pundamilia (aka zebra nyererei). When I got them home and acclimated to my tank I realized that there was no way that was correct. They are definately either a hybrid or some variant of the many, many victorian rockpickers, maybe even another variety of rock kribensis for all I know.

The other mystery victorian was purchased at a very reputable LFS but was labeled Haplochromis obliquidens. Obviously not a correct identification but I do not believe that this one is a hybrid. I hope to get an ID some day but victorians are tough to get a handle on sometimes.

Sounds all to familiar, ass I like to gamble also.lol sometimes you win sometimes you loose.
Yeah those Vics can be tuff, would'nt want to terminate a fish that was near extinction. have you tried posting a pic on one of the Victorian sites?
