I saw a loach I am interested in at Petsmart (of all places) & I think I want one (or more :) ) but I can't find any info about them online, not even at loaches.com!
Does anyone know anything about these:
Called either angelicus or angelica or something with "angel" in it.
The have a white body with a black ladder-like pattern. That's about all I have. The ones at the store were already about 6" long.
The info. I'm looking for: Max. size & schooling or solitary.
Thanks for any help.

OK I found it, and I went and bought 1. Here is a link for anyone who is interested in unusual loaches and wants to check out what this species looks like. http://www.loaches.com/species_pages/botia_sp_myanmar.htmlMine has spots that look white, rather than the ones that look yellow. It is currently about 4" long & should get about 2" longer.
I'm a fishaholic.
Here's a little song my sister sang to me as I dragged her along to Petsmart.
Where did all her money go?
To the fish.
Why are all her friends gone?
Cuz they're scared.

I do actually still have some money and friends...I think.

LOL
You maybe should caution little sister that catching the fish bug is very easy and though not fatal, is a chronic and life long disease :)

Is this what you saw?
or this?http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?siteid=21&pCatId=1590?

I'll assume the latter, from the description you gave...here are some more links about Botia angelicus
http://www.bocje.com/Wonderous_strangers.htm
...not a whole lot of info out there...I see a lot of confusion around the systematics and naming of this fish...so you might see if their is a synonomous species name as well...

Thx Seedy, I didn't realize that my link didn't work until just now. It is Botia angelicus, the first pic on the page you linked.

What happened to the pic of the S.angelicus I had posted?...Did the link go bad? or was my post editted for copyright reasons? If I was edited please just put an "editted last by..." so I know...(and so my post makes sense)

What picture? Usually if there's a problem with a posting that requires editing you'll get a pm regarding the matter.

there was (past tense) a pic of a S.angelicus that I had posted after opening "is this what you saw?" (then the S.angelicus pic), "or this"....

without the pic of the Syno, my line about "I'll assume the latter" dosn't make much sense...BTW-I'm not griping...I'm just curiose as to what happened...(boy, I can't spell today...)

I've seen worse. Sorry I don't know what the deal is on the missing picture though. If it's copyrighted to someone else we can't allow it, but like I mentioned earlier we would normally pass that info on to the poster so that they don't accidently do it again.
