Wondering who uses powerheads here? If so, how? I have my 802 submerged halfway. I tried to put it at the top but the agitation at the top scared my fish too much.

I use an off-brand power head, running in reverse to a UGF..(yes I know cichlids dig)

301 to aerate and added a filter tube with carbon for some extra filtration.

Many power heads in use....... I strongly believe most tanks have too little flow.

Dont know what the names of them are but i have two in my 125g they are both hooked upto tubes that are connected to the undergravel filter, one of them is a 1200lt/h and the other is a 850lt/h it has MASSIVE water flow, its funny watching the fish swim up to them forgeting there going to get blown away :P

29 is not too small for a powerhead at all, you can either put it on an Under Gravel Filter (UGF) or hook it to a sponge filter or make your own filter to attach it to. I wouldn't put an 802 on your 29 but find a slightly smaller one with flow (usaully given in gph) that is more appropriate for your size tank...
