I found a picture of a P. daktari blue/gold on a website last night. Now I can't find it again. :( It's really a cool looking fish, very similar to a Bumblebee, but the black stripes are blue.
Help, Sam

Gypsy,
I should have know you would be the first to reply. You are always so helpful (and Heaven knows I need all the help I can get)! All the sites you listed have P. daktari, but not P. daktari blue/gold. Unfortunately I can't even remember what I was looking for when I saw the pictures. I have found lots of sites that listed the fish, but no pictures. It was on a site that had Maylandia Crabro (Bumblebee) in the same section. The fish looks exactly like the Bumblebee, but it has blue stripes over the yellow instead of black. please don't give up, if you find anything, let me know please.
Thanks for your help, Sam
P.S.
Maybe it's a new fish created intentionally?

those pics are not regular daktari--they are daktari chiwindi which are blue and gold. regular daktari males are yellow with black caudal fin markings, females are tan.

thanks bobzz--sam, i'm beginning to think that you were dreaming when you saw that fish. your description for a daktari blue/gold does not match any of the pics that i've seen of blue/golds--i think that you must have seen a pic that was mis-labelled.
