You can post pictures directly off of your computer. Use the attach file option under the message text. Make sure it's a smaller file like a vga and it has the correct file suffix (listed in the option).
Neetroplus nematopus........ a.k.a. Neet.

Second fish, yeah. But take a look at the first one, CHC. Its some kind of Archocentus or Crypotoheros. I don't know what it is just by memory. Yeah, it better not be a convict :)

The second photo may be a bit misleading as the fish was on an angle when the photo was taken. It is a lot deeper bodied than that in real life.
The person who owns the second fish reckons it is a male Nicaraguan cichlid. To me it looks kinda like a cross between a Nic and a convict.
The first fish is the offspring from the sceond fish and a female Nic. Hence the owner says that it is a pure bred Nic. Doesn't look quite right though to me.
The current owner got the supposed male (and female) fish second hand off another guy and has just taken this other guys word for it that they are Nic's.
I'll try posting the pics from off my computer.

Oh, I thought both pix were the same (too lazy to sort out the red-X stuff after the first try!).
The second is a con or a hybrid con......... definitely Archo type.

the second pic looks exactly like a fish I saw on another site. I was convinced that it was an Archocentrus/Cryptoheros species as well. I thought it was C. sp. 'cutteri' (not to be confused with the Cutter's cichlid--C. septemfasciatus). Everyone else guessing also thought it was an Archocentrus/Cryptoheros. Well, the owner was not convinced, so he posted on a different site and the consensus was that the fish was Herichthys pearsei. http://208.51.130.220/~mojo/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Photo;action=display;num=1083116568. that is the link to the second thread where the fish was posted and identified as H. pearsei so you guys can look and see what you think.

Thanks for your opinions.
The first fish is the offspring of the second fish and a female nicaraguan cichlid. These offspring have been getting passed off as pure breed nic's over here in NZ.
I doubt whether the second fish has any neet in it as there are no neets in NZ. I personally think the second fish is a nicaraguan-convict cross. Next time I visit this guys place I'll try and get a better pic.

I got my nics 3 days ago at (Perish the thought) PetSmart. They were colorfull and lively in PS tanks and after 1 day of seeming shyness they are out and about. Here is my female. Sorry about crap lighting but I took it from a distance and poor angle so not to spook. Then my digital camera broke down. rats. No pair pics.
THe female is currently more colorful and 1/2" shorter than the male. They al;most ideally match the sexing criteria in the Bumper Guide to Tropical Cichlids from Interpet Publishing.
But the female is the "initiator" in already apparent love play. Is it a known fact that Nicaraguan Cichlid females initiate courting and are generally the "aggressors" like Kribs and Jewel Cichlids.
Cause my female is already lookin for love.
