I've had my new tank set up and running for well over a month now. The fish seem in 100% perfect health, and appear to be happy.

The problem is there is a haze is my water. The tank water seems murky, and when looking from the sides of the tank appears to be worse. I don't think its the bacterial bloom since the tank has been up for over a month now, and I cycled it for 10 days before putting a single fish in. There also appears to be this white film ontop of some of my rocks and decorations, and on the inner glass of the tank? Any ideas on what this is??

I have a 100gal tank, with an Eheim Professional II 2028 canister filter, and have crushed coral as my substrate.

Could it be the crushed coral? Will this go away? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you probably do have a bacterial bloom...cycling can sometimes take months. you should also note that no cycling occurs in a tank without fish unless you are doing a fishless cycle(adding ammonia in specific increments).

... could also be algae, often mistaken for a bacterial bloom.

Agree with SGypsie though in that cycling takes 4-6+ weeks on average, but the film you may be seeing is the beginning of some algae taking hold...

You may want to go get yourself a pleco.

Is there anything that can be done to improve the water quality in the meanwhile?

Also, is my Ehem Pro II enough filtration for 100 gal tank? I was thinking of adding an Emperor, or even just a powerhead to get some more water movement.

You could get an aquaclear 300-500 for extra filtration (run 2 sponges) and water movement..

Also, polyfilter may help with the cloudiness- you can cut it to fit your filter and it absorbs quite a lot of junk, even the tiniest of particles... I use it anytime I have to remove meds after treatment or any time a mystery fog develops....

I would do a 25-30% water change. Wait a few more days and do another 30% water change if it doesn't improve.
