Anyone else have these supposedly "bad aquarium residents"?

I have a 7 inch Bala who is tough as nails. He has jumped out of the tank 3 times and has had numerous other injuries. LOL.

They tend to get very freaked out when hands invade the aquarium. I am actually trying to find a new home for mine because he is getting too large for the tank. None of LFS around here will take him.

they tend to get really spooked easily and get jumpy, but in my opinion they are pretty good fish. as juvies, they get sick pretty easily and die often from the move from the lfs to home... but all in all they are pretty cool. ive had several

i have 2 smaller sized bala sharks in with 2 angels, 2 black skirt tetras, and 6 neon tetras and so far no problems with them

in my other tank i have one bala about 5 in with some blue shark(forgot the name), silver dollar, ??? puffer and ive heard the bala jump out the water a couple of times but my cover to the tank keeps him safe from our dry world

i think the blue shark is an iridescent it looks like it but i have not yet seen a picture of a blue one yet

that's very true, very active fish,if there is a way out of your tank, you could believe they'll find it.

i dont think they are bad residents at all. its more of the uninformed ppls fault. i wouldnt put these babies in anything under 125/150 gallon. they deserve better then that :(

if your thinking about putting about 9 or 10 in the 125/150 gal maybe true but if you only have 2 or 3 med sized that might be a little execessive
