I have recently been having an outbreak of pregnant fish.It was all fine until I found out that one of the group of forty was a crossbreed.I thought she was a female blue johanni. This is the best picture I could get.She is the one to the right. She's kind of purplish blue orange & yellow tips on her fins. What is she & what should I do with the fry?

We could use a bit more info. Do I understand that you have a mature (blue/black) male and a (yellow) female M. johanni in the tank? You saw the yellow female holding and then she spit 40 fry? Did all the fry start out yellow and then this one turned the color in the picture?
Just keep in mind that not all cichlids end up looking like they came right out of the textbook. When I was breeding saulosi, every once in a while I would get a juvie with a slightly brownish yellow color. And this was a single species tank with F1 stock.
Of course, it wouldn't surprise me if some one bought a male M. cyaneorhabdos (aka maingano, aka electric blue johanni) and unknowingly crossed it with a female M. johanni since that's a little bit what the picture looks like. (Just a guess really.)
