Male or Female???

I jux got 2 kenyi from a friend. One is all yellow i know thats a male but one is kinda brownish yellow and you can see the stipes on it, not sure if that one is a male or female? Only males have egg spot on its anal fin rite?? cuz the brownish yellow one have a lil tiny egg spot on its anal fin so from what i know i think its a male too but i'm not sure if some female have egg spot too...

Eggspots aren't a reliable way to judge sex. I would guess you have 2 males based on color. Unless your tank is really big (125g+) I'd get rid of one of them ASAP.

the brownish yellow one could be a male going thru the color change from juvenile to adult coloration, or if the fish are old--it could be a female, but i'm betting male.

well its like at its max size already or almost their because its about 4 inches big and still have its stipes.

then, it is possible that it is an old female--sometimes female kennyi get kind of muddy colored when they're older.

how old do you think it could b because my friend did have it for some times already?

i would say something over 4 years, maybe.

No i don't think he has it for that long, he had it for at most 2 years but hey if you know a site in which i can purchase female kenyi then i surely would appreciate.

kennyi are very commonly available, and inexpensive. if i were you, i would just buy a group of juveniles and let them sort themselves out.
