Can African cichlids safely live in a tank with a paostamus or how ever you spell it

Yes, they usually hold thier own pretty good.They may get a nipped fin here or there but just watch that it doesn't get to bad.

personally, i prefer to keep synodontis cats with african lake cichlids--they don't take any guff from the cichlids! :twisted:

If the tank is big enough and the plecostamus has a place to hide, it should be fine. Certainly plenty of people have kept them together in the past. I prefer Syno cats and clown loaches though.

i got a pleco in mine. one of the texas tryed bossing it aorund, and the pleco chased it for an hr....no one picked on my lil pleco ever since:)
