[quote:c1f270cee3="Cichlid Jeans"][b:c1f270cee3]In sexually dimorphic Malawi species, the blue or purple fish will be males, the orange or yellow fish will be the females – that's the almost-universal rule. [i:c1f270cee3]Pseudotropheus[/i:c1f270cee3] sp. "deep" is an example.

In which Malawis is this sexual colour pattern reversed, with blue/purple females, orange/yellow males.[/b:c1f270cee3] :P [/quote:c1f270cee3]

Check out Maylandia barlowi and its relative Maylandia lombardoi, two Malawi species in which the females are blue and the males yellow. Maylandia lombardoi is frequently sold in the USA as the "kenyi" or "kennyi," or as the Golden Zebra.
