Looks like a Herichthys sp. "Poza Rica" to me.

yes it does(the guy i got it from told me it was a texas/ jag mix thanks------you should see it when it gets mad it turns a yellowish and the blotch type band through the center of the body gets darker and thicker. i havent checked my e-mail yet but got your response here ill check.

I would agree it's a texas/jag mix. A local fish guy breeds them (calls them "manipinte"). Very good looking fish, but there is a lot of variability in the look (even among the same batch of fry).

I'm not into hybrids, but there are some of this mix that are tempting!
