I have 390 gallon tank with 2 electric yellows and 1 one bumblebee. I would like to add one or 2 crabs to the tank. What would be a good one to go with? Also I was thinking of adding a kenyi or do you think that would overcrowd the tank. I have a few live plants and plenty of rock for hidding.

Yu have a 390 gallon tank... I don't think you would crowd it with 3 + 20 fish let alone 1! Guessing you meant 39 gallon, 4 fish shouldn't be a problem, just take out all the decorations then put inthe new fish... then put back the decor.

As forthe crabs they will likely make a great meal for the cichlids, first the eyes, then they'll start picking them apart. That is of course if the crabs don't get they're claws on your cichlids first. All in all not a good idea, life will be lost!

Cheers
Jay

My bad I wish I had a 390 gallon. Its a 30 gallon. maybe I will pass on the crabs whever I had them in the past they never lasted long. you think the Kenyi would be a better chioce. Why should I remove the decore? Is it a territory issue? I am not trying to question you I am just trying to learn. Thanks

also is the kenyi a malawi fish. Are there any other malawi fish that would go good with my fish?

the kennyi might pick on your labs, though.

I agree, the Kenyi from Lake Malawi might be a nuscence to the others

your tank sounds similar to mine... i have 1 elec. yellow, 1 kenny, 1 bumble bee, 2 other mbunas and 2 convicts; all in a 30 gal... at first the kenny was alittle hyperdominate, but the bumble bee grew alot faster. As it stands, the bumble bee is the biggest fish in the tank, and they all are living peacfully. just make sure there are plenty of hiding spots (my tank is about 1/2 filled with a rock pile, and i put a maze of 1.5" PVC piping under the gravel which they Really like) and try to get a kenny that's alittle smaller than the other's and they'll get along alright.

oh, and the crabs are a bad idea... just get more fish, they're more fun to watch anyway. :D
