how good is the penguin bio wheels?

I prefer AquaClears, but the Penguins are a good product. I have an old Penguin300 (not 330) that is still in use on my garage tank. It's got to be at least 7 years old. It's just a bit too noisy for the house. A good feature about the Penguins is the easiness of changing the media.
