I tested the ph levels in my tank the other day.
It was low - around 7.4.
Will the salt increase the levels and what is good practise for ph levels?
I think I have limestone in my tank. I will check with my lfs later.
Thanks.

I don't know about salt increasing pH, but crushed coral in your substrate or filter will.

Depends what type of salts...
NaCl will not raise pH but GH will increase.

Ok! I purchased some crushed coral, but I am concern about the about of volume of water that will be left in the tank after I mix the coral with the white gravel. Somewhere I read that I could put the coral in my filter. I have two bio-wheels as filters and that is all.
I need to increase at least .8.

You can place the coral in a stocking and place it inside the filters.

or you could remove some or all of the white gravel and replace it with the crushed coral.
