I have a thread in the Malawi fourm, but thought I would continue it here. See http://cichlidforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4696 for hsitory. The male Psuedotropheus Elongatus died this morning. :( He hadn't been eating great, but the last few days was very picky, only nibbling. Had him for about 1.5 weeks. The other fish seem to be doing ok, but not eating as much as I think they should be. Not positive, because I leave a large algae disc for the pleco, and they all nibble at it.

I need to get more fish, as the tank looks sparse of fish, and I think that having too few fish can cause problems with agession.

I am open to Africans outside of Malawi, just looking for moderate to low agression, and compatible diet with current fish. Also some bright colors, and would like to keep species that won't interbreed and make hybrids. pH is at low African range (7.8)

Picture is my male (I assume) electric yellow. Any tips for sure-fire sexing? I would like to get 1 more, preferably female

Thanks. Bought another female lab, and LFS that specializes in Africans is getting some Ps. Acei in this week - he had 2 males, but I wanted a breeding pair or trio. He also had some Iodotropheus sprenerae 'rusty', but said they were really bad about cross-breeding with almost anything. Anybody had problems or success with rusties crossbreeding in a tank with Lab. Caeruleus and Ps. Acei? I will probably trade the Ps. Elongates female back in, as the male died, and the rest of the tank is more peaceful.

i had rusties cross with an l. caeruleus, but i think that it was mainly because i didn't have proper mates available for the fish.
