I am going to start a central/south america cichlid tank soon after i move back to arizona. I have been reaserching it for a few months now and I have worked for the LFS. I have learned alot from friends at work and from customers. If anyone has any suggestion on some fish please tell me. And I am also going to setup a african for my little sis. again any suggestions are welcom and will be taken into concideration. I have a 26 flat back hex... I know it is small but I am going to get all my fish small like 1-2in so it should be fine. I have a canister filter, air pump, bendable bubble wall and everything else I need to start.Other then the fish. After I get to Az, I will be getting a job at the LFS, so all my fish and things will be cheaper:razz:

Go with a small species in the hex (hex tanks have a lot lower fish capacity b/c of the surface area/water volume ratio). I like shell breeders for small tanks...

Yes, it will be fine for the moment...but what happens in 6months to a year? A 26 flat back hex is not a good tank (IMO) for Mbuna,Peacocks,Zebras,Haps...and certainly not for more open water species like those found in the genus Trophues...

Go with shellies.....Your sister will like them!
