I noticed swelling in the rectum area of my blue ahli. Can someone explain? I am not sure if it is intestional blocking or signs of breeding?

not signs of breeding..
What have you feed them lately?
could the fish have ate a gravel stone and cant pass it? this has happen..for cichlids move gravel most often..
feed with Pepso food if you can get it where you are..or try a green pea..cooked and cooled remove the skin..and see if that works..
does this fish show any signs of anything else..is he eating?..gasping?..flashing?..this would help for me to know..
what do you have in your tank?..how many fish and how big are these fish..

Seems to have passed it. All my ciclids are between 3 to 4 inches.
I have 3 yellow lab, 1 red zebra, 1 kenyi, 2 blue ahli, 1 hap milomo, 2 hap boreyli, 1 OB Peacock in a 36 gal bow. They live pretty good together. The red zebra seems to be the alpha male or kingpin, but one of the hap boreyli is quickly gaining props in the tank. The hap seems to do most of the chasing in the tank, until the red zebra calms him down.
No spwaning has occurred and I have had the tank for almost a year. No casualties, so i feel good.
