i realize it may be a little difficult with juvies, but i was hoping i could get a little bit of direction...

wow!! That red one is really something!!!! I have NO idea what they are..the blue one looks hap-like, but ?????

actually, i was thinking that the blue was a powder blue (Pseudotropheus socolofi on this (http://www.russutslersfish.com/mbuna_gallery5.html) page), but i wasn't sure if the head was exactly right...

i've never seen another like the red one... he's really active and fun, too =]

oh that could be!...he does look look like Ps. but I see what you mean about the head..that's why I thought maybe hap...
I LOVE that red fish!!! Where did you get him??

at my lfs called C&P (christiansburg, VA). he came out of a "mixed africans" tank. there were a few in there that looked like him, one darker, mostly lighter.

wow...the 'mixed' tanks I see don't have fish that look like THAT!!!
I hope someone can identify him!

The red one is most likely M. estherae (aka Red Zebra)

I've never seen a red zebra so RED!!! Beautiful! (They always look orange/yellow to me)

the blue one looks like Cobalt Blue but his body looks kinda like torpedo so it could be the Socolofi, maybe a little bit of both? :D The red one is definitely a Red Zebra, I have one exactly like that...really bright orange and almost look like red.

I'm with Ben on the Cobalt /Socolofi cross.And dang' man, that's the best looking red zebra I've ever seen!...if it is one.

I agree. I assumed the redness could be from diet, camera or attitude at the time. Beautiful fish.
