Hi everyone, just found out about these forums :D

What is this fish? I'm 99% sure it's a female Malawi peacock, but can't be sure which exactly. Anyone?

Well, it appears to be a female Aulonocara....but to tell which species is nearly impossible, since they all look very similar!

The red fish you have appears to be a A. rubescens.

Did you purchase them together from the same tank?

They were purchased at different times and from different LFS's. My tank is mostly male Aulonocara of different types, so thought I'd try & spice things up :) A female Red is already in there, but this one is a mystery. She came from a tank labled "Assorted Females".

Oh well. As long as I'm relatively close, and can hope for fry someday :)

close is not good enough, if you don't know the species, don't breed it.....or if you are, don't distribute the fry.
