If I have a Fluval 404 and my wife wants a filter that does not hang on the back of the tank............

What is a good option for a backup. I told here if she did not want one on the tank I would probably have to get another cannister and told her the price range...she said she did not care..

So any suggestions for a backup filter? Thanks

Well I have never had one and was not sure if a backup is just a temorary thing or how good, size it need to be etc....

I never had a backup before so this is new to me.

I was looking at the Fluval 4 Internal Filter.....it says it can handle a 55 gallon tank but is that what I am really looking for in a backup or should....just not sure what to do

Thanks

dmiles,
I have a filstar xp3 and am very happy with it. BUT as CHC says if you are happy with the Fluval get another one. Maybe consider a 402 instead of anothr 404. Also check online prices as they are much less than LFS

Good luck,

Mike
