I couldn't help myself and snuck a peak at the first calvus spawn.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Is it just me, or are calvus eggs green?
Has anybody else seen the color of calvus eggs?
Oh also, how long before they hatch (assuming the male did his job!) ...... I can't wait
You are right! they are green kinda like pea soup color. I never figured out exactly how long from laying to hatching, my calvus are very secretive. The fry are a tan color.

Thanks for that finz.
This morning the eggs were gone. She must have eaten them. Probably didn't like me sticking my nose and torch into here cave. No matter, my other female spawned as well.
Hey, I've always wanted to ask you about your photos. How do you get such good shots. I have no idea aboout photography. I only have a Sony Digicam 3mpx. Will that do the job?
I can't seem to get a clear/crisp enough shot up close, this is with the macro setting.
It couldn't possibly me! So i blame my camera.
My biggest "secret" is using external flash to allow me to shoot at high seed with a small aperture. The most difficult part for most people is getting sharp focus. I use manual focus mode and focus on the fish as best as I can. I fine tune by moving my camera froward and back a little.
