Ok, so here is the situation. I have a pair of OB peacocks that I was hoping would breed. Three days ago i noticed the female holding. The problem is i'm not positive that was her first day of holding. So what should I do? If someone could give me an amount of days to wait until stripping her that would be nice. Thank-You.

Hi Gavin,

If that was the first day you noticed the fish holding she probably hadn't been holding for very long (you do observe your fish regularly right?)

Let her hold for 2-3 weeks before stripping. Earlier than 2 weeks and the fry may still have yolksacs - not the end of the world but you may as well let the female do her job raising them up to a point. Beyond three weeks and she may spit on her own, making it very difficult for you to recuperate the fry from an aquarium with rockwork and other decor in it.

PS: congrats on the spawn!
