Two of my fish have red threadlike filaments from their anal vents, one quite thick. They're obviously worms, but how do I treat them??? Any recommended meds or steps??? Any advice would be appreciated, this is one fish illness I've never encountered before.
Thanks in advance!

..Are these red things moving then..?..as would a worm..?

And they are only coming out from the anal area?...What have you feed them lately anything different at all?..
I thought first Ancor Worm but not sure..(this would be on the skin)
I would do a water change..add some aquarium salt..sounds like a internal parisite ..yes... so you would need a med..
because there (poop) should not be that color..
Use a parisite guard or Maracyn 2..read carefully dont over dose..

someone might come and give you more advise...

might just be the diet..

the fish still eating ok..do they seem to be bloated at all?

Get Pepso food made by Jungle. It will clear out the digestive tract. You can also raise the salt and temp to help encourage them to eliminate. Feed all fish only Pepso for 3 days. Hopefully that will work. Good Luck!
