I'm new to the Cichlid world. I've been reading a lot lately, and there seems to be a some contradiction as far as necessity of Cichlid salts. I've read that you should definitely use Cichlid salts, and other places I've read that this is totally unnecessary. I do have naturally high pH levels and hardness in the water at my house so that isn't an issue. Thoughts?

If you have a HOB style filter, you can add the salt slowly to the filter, so it'll dissolve the salt before the fish can eat it.

or just dissolve the salt in water before adding it.
