Jewels Spawning?

So Today i removed the tank divider to see if the male settled down and there were a few nip but they stopped and know the female is Looking around the rocks and the male is Fearsly guarding her!:party:Is this spawning?

It could very well be pre-spawning behavior. Keep an eye on them to see how well they get along.

I've never heard of a Jewel turning black - are you sure it is a Jewel? Got a photo of this?

Share a photo, most species will change colors during the different phases of mating and life. This could be perfectly natural but help us help you.
