i have a 29 gallon tank with a aqua tech 20-40,penguin 660 power head with prefilter, and a magnum 350 canister filter with a bio pro 60.

how many convict pairs could i have? how many pictus cats could i have in with them??

one covict pair,or maybe two.1 pictus maybe two

Pictus cats can get just over six inches long on avg. some closer to 8", so I'm pretty sure a pictus cat would eventually outgrow a 29 gal. I wouldn't try two of them at least. I'd go with one convict pair. They spawn so fast that you'll have plenty of fry with just one pair. Plus to pairs would fight an aweful lot, especially during spawning. Another thing to think about, a pictus cat might be able to get all the eggs at night when the parents are asleep. So if you want fry then a catfish might not be a good idea. Also depends on how big the pictus is.

stay away from the pictus in that small of a tank. plus they like company so you would need at least three of them.
