angelfish??

I read on the internet that angelfish a part of the cichlid family as well.
I did a search on this site, but didn't find anything on it.

Am i wrong, is this the right forum for angelfish questions?

Angelfish are American cichlids, I just don't remember the subject coming up on the current board before.
