Male Dovii Defending Eggs

This is a pic of the male getting mad at me while the eggs are hatching. His mouth was almost shut but it is the best I could do,it's hard to get a good one of these shots.

Is that the Dovii that is suppose to be 18"?

No, that is the Dovii that is supposed to be 17.5", let guess....my hand makes him look small?

Unless you've measured him out of the water (which you stated that you haven't in another post) I think its rather impossible to say that he is definantly 17.5", rather than 17" or 18".

And yeah, that fish looks much much smaller than 17.5".
