well today i rinsed off my filter strainer thing at the end of the tube cause it was all algae like and i forgot to put it back on and like 2 hours later i came into the room and couldnt fine my O hes like 3 inches, well he got sucked up in the filter i feel bad cause it my fault :(

Oh man, sorry to hear that.... That's a hard lesson - we've all had hard lessons at one time or another. Don't beat yourself up too much...

thanks, but my tank only gots a albino pleco in it now im tryin to figure out what kind of cichlid i want, maybe another oscar

Sorry to hear about that.

You may want to go back with a Red Devil or a Green Terror. They often won't grow quite as big as an oscar, are usually just as interactive and more brightly colored, and either is a better fit for a 55 than an oscar usually.

Chet has a good point... If you want to keep an oscar for life you'd need a bigger tank than a 55... Mine is currently in a 75, but I will be setting up my 125 for him in the near future. A 55 is a good size for them to grow in, but eventually he will get too big for it. They are too narrow for them at mature size.
