Looks like an Aulonocara hybrid OB
otherwise known as an OB peacock.

The eyes look like they are placed too far back to be an Aulonocara. A picture from the side would be easier to tell with, but I would guess Psudotrophous OB.

it is an ob peacock; ob peacocks are commercially bred hybrids which are derived from crossing aulonocara with pseudotropheus, so using the placement of aulonocara eyes will not work in this case.

Out of curiousity, why do you guys think it looks like an OB peacock? Mouth, body shape?

SGypsy,
I am also curious about Cichlid-Fan's question. Perhaps you might go into more depth about the difference between an OB Aulonocara and an OB Pseudotropous.

Thanks, but it was really SGypsy's comment to which I was referring. The largest three features I look for to know aulon from psudo are the eyes, finnage, and body shape. I am just curious how that picture is enough to know Aulon, from Psudo OB, or is this just a "Peacock OB" based on the mixing of the two genus?
Best,
Brent

all of the above, plus the ob peacock males have that electric blue spangling around the mouth that the zebras lack.
