Hey, I'm looking for some good information sources on this fish. I'm trying to decide if a pair would be a good birthday present to go with my peacocks and altocomps. Unfortunately, what I can find on the internet isn't very complete or it's foreign and my translate function tends to do funky things with the page.

i have some subadults(some have spawned already) in a tank with juvie calvus, p. phenocheilus(sp), peacocks, and subadult p. chilotes. the dominant male igneopinnis is tank boss, but he doesn't appear to be murderous. however, while i was looking for info in seehausen's book, i read that of four males examined, 2 had exclusively algae in their stomachs, while the other two had plant detritus. the author's believe that the fish is partly planktoniverous due to its anatomy, but they only found the veggies. so far, i haven't had any problems with them with bloat...they get the same food as the mbuna: protein, but heavy on the spirulina.
they are rock dwellers.

I'd feed them shrimp mix with either veggie flake or cichlid attack pellets if I got them with evening feedings of something frozen. I could easily change the frozen food to mysis, daphnia, krill and such.

Hi P.igneopinnis comes from Ndurwa point, it's a relatively peaceful species for a pundamilia. It grow toward 12 cm long and need more than 2 or 3 females for a male.

Hi, yes I have more than 30 babies per female in my tank and they seem to be terrritorial but less agressives than a nyererei or Pundamilia pundamilia.

I give artemias nauplius to the youngs and when yu see them eat them, yu know why Seehausen put them in the zooplanctivores species.
