Looks like N. fuscotaeniatus

If he is still small and showing blue on the face, you have purchased a hormoned fish....

It is a Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus....but looks like he is hormoned....sorry to say.

These guys don't naturally color up until they are at least 5 or more inches....

Notice the beak part is blue in color ?? and the body is got some sort of patches but it the patches design is different from the Venetus Nimbrochomis (dunno how to spell)

So u see the difference between lighting effect on my fish...the pic i posted earlier one is the same pic as this one.

and should not, these fish don't get blue until they are maturing well past 5 inches....

Id they are showing blue at a young age, they have been hormoned....which is not good.

I saw that in one of your earlier posts. The same holds true for determining sex I would assume since the male has the blue coloration.

yup, and hormoned fish really screw the rules because even the females are coloured up with long fins.

Grrrrrr

If I remember correctly, you stated in another post that you were not dechlorinating your water. I suggest you invest in a testing kit and check your water parameters. Incorrect parameters can cause high stress and lowered immune systems.

Good luck,
Matt

I did dechlorinate it always...and put aquarium salt to promote better air intakes for their grills...juz tat they always fight and attack new comers !! then the new comer will be weak...
