This is my new setup. Just wanted to get some comments and suggestions on it...good or bad. It will be on either a 135 or 150 gallon tank.

Filtration and Air pumps
2- penguin 330's filled with crushed coral in the media baskets. Emperor filer pads.

2- aqua clear 402 powerheads with aqua clear sponge attachments

1- filstar xp3 fill with the media it come with. Bio-balls, carbon, filter floss. Would really like opinions on what I should put in the media baskets for this canister filter.

Substrate and Rocks
3-4 larger granite rocks
100lbs silica sand

I plan on putting about a 1” layer of silica sand on the bottom of my tank. For rocks I wanted to make it clean and simple. I plan on putting 3-4 large size bolder in the middle of the tank.

These are what the granite rocks look like.

These aren’t granite rocks but this is how I plan on placing them in my aquarium. Just a couple large ones in the center.

Heating
2- 250watt Ebo-Jager heaters

Background
This I am still not sure of yet. I would like to make a styrophone background like the ones I found in the DIY area. In the meantime what would u guys suggest as far as a colored background. Not sure if I want black or blue. I guess black would bring out the colors of the fish more. What does a blue background offer?

Fish List
(I would really like to see comments about the fish I have choosen and there compatibility)
I am building this new tank because I have just turned into a “Frontosa Fanatic”.

4. 3-Aulonocara spec.“Eureka red”
5. 3-Protomelas Ferestraus “Taiwan
6. 3 Aulonocara spec. “German Red”
7. 1 Britle Nose pleco

My comments with regards to the stocking/compatibility:
Mixing mbuna with haps is often problematic because of their different nutritional needs. Also, the mbuna might not like the decor and become stressed if you plan on just putting a few large rocks in the tank.
Also, the Fronts eventually may eat your peacocks and mbuna.
You could probably get away with this setup for awhile....

If you get a regular commercial aquarium background, they usually offer one that is black on one side and blue on the other. This will let you try both colors :)

i don't think that 3 to 4 large rocks will provide enough caves for your rock dwellers.
