I have a 55 gallon tank with 3 yellow labs, 3 snow white socoloffi's, 2 electric blue ahli, 1 red top cobalt, and 3 ob peacocks. Oh yeah, and a catfish. Right now I have a Penguin 330. Is this enough filteration? I was thinking of adding another penguin 330? Would that be overkill? What about a penguin 170? Or do I already have suffeciant filteration?

a second filter is always a good thing in a cichlid tank...i vote for a second 330.

So that would not be to much flow? How many more fish do you think I could have with that extra filter?
Sorta off topic but, at my lfs the penguin 330 is about $70. I also have a petsmart nearby. Would the local petsmart pricematch the $24.99 price from their website? I don't want to get ripped off.

i'm not familiar with penguins, and i'm a bad person to ask about stocking levels...i always have way too many fish in my tanks. if the petsmart won't match the price...just order it online.

2 penguin 330's would not be to much filtration. that would probably be your best be. plus everything would match up when u look at the top of your tank.
buying it online is really up to u. i only buy big item things online. i mean after shipping and everything it will probably cost u close to 50bucks. if u really wanted the filter asap i think spending the extra 20 bucks isnt a issure. thats my 2 cents. although if u are willing to wait a week or 2 buy it online fosure.

Ok, I will get another 330. Will petsmart pricematch the price from petsmart.com?

i highly doubt they would. the main reason online prices are so cheap is because there is no store lease or staff of employee's ect ect that a local store has to pay. they have to increase prices a little to pay to keep the store running. u get what i mean. i doubt any store would match an online price.

anytime bro.
good luck with your new filter. i love my 2 penguin 330's.
also the best part about having 2 filters is u can clean one and not distroy all your good bacteria on the other filter.
