I'm thinking of making these my next Tanganyikans. I like the white ones. My wife likes the black ones. So we'll probably compromise and get some of each. Different tanks I guess if they cross together. 29g okay for a pair?
Anyone have experience to share? :?
I have 2 congo black Alto Calvus. A 29gal would be fine for a pair. They are extreamly slow growers. I've had mine for a year now and they have only grown about 1/2 inch or so. They don't need alot of swiming room like a N. Brichardi and they are relitively peaceful.

I have five black calvus in a 150 gallon aquarium. These are doing quite well, are more peacefull than most of the others and extreemly slow growers. A 29 gal tank should be fine.
Good luck

I think it will be challenging to get a pair of juves of either variant -- they're difficult to sex until they make a selection on their own. If you want to breed them, you'll have to start with 5 or 6. :?
Maybe someone has another suggestion -- I'd be grateful.
