AHH I was looking in to my tank today and noticed that my one larger leleupi has like a very faint whitish color over his hole body and he is swimming like a saltwater clown fish, if you've never seen what a clown fish swims like it's like there body moves in waves (wiggles) Please help quick I don't think he's got much more time. :(

thanks Jennifer

i'm moving this to the cichlid health forum...at the top of that page, there is a thread with links to various fish disease diagnosis sites. the problem doesn't sound familiar to me, except for the swimming...that sounds like 'shimmying'.

Here are a few sites that might help... From your description, it could be many different things... We'd have to have more info on the problem... Is he having trouble swimming or is he trying to use his head to swim? Is he rubbing on the substrate or decorations (flashing)? How's his respiration? Is he eating? Lethargic? Is there sufficient salt in the water? Is the ph stable? How are the ammonia, nitrites & nitrates?

This one is okay - if you can get over the pop-ups... Scroll down to the pictures and check them out. You may have a couple of different problems going on. I hope this helps you - just be careful not to become a fish hypochondriac... :D

Search the net too, most freshwater species are all susceptible to the same illnesses, bacteria & parasites. It doesn't have to be a "cichlid" site to help...

Good luck, and if you can get more descriptive on the problem (including behavior) we may be able to help you better in trying to find what to look for - that's the challenge with diagnosing a sick fish...
