What is the best way to do that lighting, and how much do you give them each day?

the fish don't require artificial lighting. they can do just fine with the ambient light in the room. if you have live plants in the tank, you need to leave the lights on for at least 10 hours a day. the type of lighting that you need depends on the types of plants and the depth of the tank. a good rule of thumb is 2 watts of light per gallon of water.

if u have plants and it is a fairly large tank u caould go with a compavt flourescent. they give a lot of light and arent huge, but they can be pricey. other wise if u have no plants go with a day glo strip lighht and if u have peacoks add a blue light it makes thier colors come out much brighter.
