Pleaco died

I have two gold severums (4 inches each) - and had a pleco in there- he died.

I think he starved to death. He was very skinny. I had been keeping the tank very clean because one of my severums came with HITH and I think he didn't have enough to eat.

SO- I got a new pleco. and some algae disks. when I put the algae disks in, the severums eat them.

I am going to try a zuccini tied to a rock- BUT I am thinking the severums will eat that also-

I will appreciate anything you care to tell me.

if you put your algae disks in the tank right before you turn off the lights, your plecos will get their share.

I was also reading in the archives about a pvc tube that you put the food in- but I was confused about the logictics- I know that my severums would also learn that food is under it- maybe after lights out makes a difference?
