Julis can thrive on just about any high quality cichlid food. Mine get a real variety of stuff both frozen and flake. Give them plenty of caves to hide in. I don't know how many you have, but if they pair up, you will notice a sudden population reduction to two, and then a population explosion as those two produce more. Make sure you keep the water changes recent, and you julis should be fairly happy. They ought to be able to hold their own with a wide range of Tangs as tankmates so if you want an eventual community, you're pretty good there as well.
How much space would you recommend between other species i.e.: Leleupi or Brichardi? And how would they do with other species of julidochromis? Has any one-kept different Julies in the same tank? if so how many, and what size tank? Cheers.....Tony. :)

I would say if you want wnother rock-dweller in that tank to go at least 55g with separate rock piles on each end for territories for each kind of fish.
I would also be very careful about adding brichardi. If they start to breed, they will take over the tank and tend to murder the other inhabitants even in a tank that size.
Thanks  I have 8 juveniles in a 33gal grow-out tank. Have not decided which way to go yet. Still have some time to decide on my final set-up. Cheers..... Tony. :)
