I will be getting a 55g in about a month or two from my parents because they will be moving long distance and wont be taking the tank with them. I will probably just donate the fish they have in there right now to the LFS for food credit or something and i was thinking about replacing them with some vics. Is a 55g big enough for any vics? and if so how much do they cost and where would i get them?

A 55 gallon tank would be just fine for a one or two species tank of most victorians available in the US. There is no way for us to tell what species is available to you in Montana. If you decide to mail order them, I would suggest this site;

Is there any species in particular you would recommend for that size tank and my experience level? (which is pretty low)

I'm not sure if you have ever received an answer to this...but, for Victorians, they are fairly hardy fish. For a 55, I'd personally suggest Paralabidochromis chromogynos and a species like Xystichromis sp. "Kyoga Flameback" or Paralabidochromis sp."Fire" or "Fire Red Uganda" (same species, but different names.)
I'd say groups of 1 male and 3-4 females in each group would be good, and these species are very different for a combination.

it has been my expierance that the chromogynos are a little agresive for the
xystichomis cf kyoga flameback,
diffrent folks have diffrent taste, and if you like the piebald species the chromogynos is an excellant choice.
here is a sugestion, that you visit as many victorian cichlid pages as you can.
read and look at the pictures and see what intrest you. once you have narowed it down to that, check compatability, nutrition needs, recomended tank sizes, agression levels and narrow it down a little more, with victorians prone to hybridization great care should be taken when combining species unless you do not plan on keeping and distributing any fry, or go with an all male tank. victorians are wonderful to keep and there are many options available.
