this is my baby that was given to me last christmas for a gift from my husband. I'm uncertain as to wether it is a boy or a girl. From what i can understand females can, and sometimes do develope a small hump....this fishy does have a small hump....it is about 5 inches. What do you think? It is the only front in the tank, so it has no compitition...I don't know if that would hinder the development of a hump:confused: What do you guys think? I don't think the fins are as long as some i'v seen that are defenitly males

that's a tough question...i believe that fronts are generally difficult to sex at that size. try a google search on sexing frontosa; you might come up with some useful info.

When I researched my fronts, the info said both males and females get the nuchal hump.

I have bred a few fronts and the only sure fire way is to vent them. Take the fish in a net and look at the anal pore. If there is 2 holes its a female. If there is one its a male. The hump varies you can see a difference only if you have many of the same varient to compare.
