I proposed an African tank at work (elementary school). I want to do what fits the school best and not just me (which means some serious learning on my part)...so, it seems the 4th gr. culture curriculum has the theme of water and they study Africa, the Nile and lake Victoria....so Victorians would be great for the kids in so many ways....They start their unit Jan/Feb, so I need to move it....
Are there any good books or websites anyone could recommend on Victorians only? Maybe even curriculum based info so I can have supplements for the teacher, etc.
Another question...how touchy are they as compared to mbuna? i.e. health, temp changes, water chemistry...
oh, I'm thinking a 75-90 gallon?
Thanks,
T

thanks - I will definitely try that...
 oh, the Vikings:mad: Let's hope today changes things w/Jackson out of the way. Finger are crossed! I don't have a lot of time to watch usually, but I want to see what Frerotte is about - hope it's not dissappointing. (If we lose and Green Bay wins, work will suck on Monday with a sea of green & gold, oh the humiliation...boo Green Bay!)

No one was wearing green at work today!
(ok...I think I hijacked my own thread!)
Anyone else with a starting point on Victorian cichlid education...guess I'll be teaching the kiddos a mini-lesson when they come in the office-jeez, for the love of fish!

there are several species that are commonly available that are rather easy to maintain and spawn.
as far as what one that is personal prefrence. most alge scrapers are very hardy and easy to maintain some what agressive.
there is lots of great info on them on this site in this forum on vicrorians, also these two also are great. the latter has an endangered species program with lots of helpfull info.
