About a week and a half ago my Aulonocara's to my surprise bred. Part of the reason I was not expecting this was that she really wasn't that "fat" to begin with. Right now I have a situation where the female is not spitting and she is starting to look emaciated. I know that it is possible to strip the female and I think I am going to have to do this. Does anyone have any advice? Should I allow her to continue to hold (I am not sure what she is holding either because again she hasn't spit) or should I end this by stripping her?

The eggs are probably not hatched yet, typical incubation period is between 21-28 days depending on tank temperature. If the female has only been holding 10-11 days she shouldn't look emaciated this quickly.... In any case do not worry, the mother will not starve herself to death, she just has to learn to "know" when its time and this can take a few spawn for them to master.
