Dear all,

I purchased a Pundamilia neyrerei at my LFS the other day.
Any ideas on the particular location, please?
StructureGuy, here is my lousy photo work LOL :).
This beautiful fish doesn't cooperate with me much...

Could be, they are similar enough. I thought that the key here is whether the dorsal fins are redish (Makobe) orange (Python) or not (Igombe).

The fins are clearly brightly colored on mine and the problem is that I cannot tell 100% whether they are reddish or have some hue of orange as well. However, I am strongly inclined to declare them rather red. Hence - Macobe? :)

Thanks a lot for helping with ID!

To me yours do indeed look like Igombe ...... but Doc V's look like either Python or Makobe.

And I've second guessed mine at times (Makobe vs Python) as well.

I would have to say absolutely not an Igombe island. I don’t think it is a Python island either. I would have to say it is a Makobe island.
