Mbuna stocking poll

Mbuna keepers or previous mbuna keepers only please.

I'm curious as to how common overstocking and massive water changes are for these fish. By overstocking, I mean ignoring the usual standards like 1" of fish per gallon of water, and the fish per square surface foot guide. I myself am closer to one adult mbuna per 3 gallons.

Massive water changes meaning 20% or more every 7-10 days. I do about 30-40% every 10 days on average.

I do 50% water changes twice a week. When Im trying to get them to breed, 75% water changes.

I've got 5 mbuna in about 150 litres, i change 25% per week this works well.

25 - 50 weekly depending on how lazy I am....thus 25 mostly

I have 16 mbuna in a 55 gallon. I do a 50% water change weekly.

I used to keep a 55 w/20-25 mbuna (sizes ranged) and I did 50% every 5 days.
