Rusties Arrived

All looked in fine condition... Acclimated them, took them out of bag and put them in.. Turned off lights... They all were swimming ok... I'm just not sure about one.. He just stays at the bottom of the tank.. Perhaps, the long trip (bought online) or still stressed.. Water is testing good.. Will keep a watch on them...

I'm considering getting some - didn't you have them at a lfs? I can get them at a small mom and pop's. I'm seriously nervous about ordering on line. So far so good huh...I"ll watch your thread to see what happens.

i rarely see rusties at my LSF's... only once that i can ever recall.

I *have* had good experiences ordering online, though. Don't forget that that's how the fish are shipped to the fish stores. ;)

Rusty's are one of the lfs standard fish. There is one expert on cichlids there and the rest of the staff are...shall we say...stupid!

He says he can order me what I want, but I don't know what I want!

I never thought of how they got their fish...I imagined semi's or something :hmm: (I guess I'm stupid too! ;-)

I ordered them through aquabid.com.. This is my first time. Right after I won the bid and paid for, the LFS called and said they had Rusties. What a bummer.... Tried for 3 weeks in a row to get them, and each time, the same answer. "Call me next week". I got fed up.. and jumped the gun.. O well....

The one at the bottom had not had enough oxygen or was asleep in his bag when he did arrived and was taken off good care by you.What a nut to crack.They will be thriving soon.

The tank looks good so far... Don't see him on the bottom no more, although, can never see all 4 at the same time... Little chasing here, little chasing there, but all looks well.. Still have the lights off . Will turn on, and feed them tomorrow. The yellow labs of course are looking for food now, and the Rusties are hiding everywhere... This is only a 46gl bow, so the Rusties look BIG..

Next week will have 6 more Afra Cobues coming... Hope I can survive until then :nana:

Rusties are nice CICHLIDS .I am lucky for you.So he was asleep or almost out of oxygen.
