View Full Version : What type of cichlid is this?

What type of cichlid is this. He's about 8 inches long and 3 inches wide and was in a tank with oscars. HE was the dominate fish in that tank. Now he's in a tank with smaller cichlids and he's not so aggressive. What is he?

"He" is a Jack Dempsey. You can find good information on this species by searching under the names Cichlasoma octofasciatum and Nandopsis octofasciatum.

Here's the other picture. I'm deleting the second thread. Sounds/looks like a Jack to me too.
